has been accepted for publication in the recently founded international open access journal DAE Panel. This paper combines our recent results for reduced realizations and midpoint-based balanced truncation for switched systems. To our best knowledge, this is the first model reduction method for (switched) DAEs which takes fully into account the jumps and Dirac impulses.
